Buhari Reportedly Dissolves Anti-Corruption Body
President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday broke down the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP) as at present established with Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla as Chairman.
An announcement sent to newsmen on Tuesday by Femi Adesina, Spokesperson to the President, said that “The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice has been coordinated to quickly assume control over every exceptional examination and different exercises of the SPIP.
“The board was set up in August 2017 by the then Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN to examine explicitly commanded instances of defilement, maltreatment of office and comparable offenses by open officials.
“President Buhari thanks all individuals from the broke up board for their administrations.
“The President anticipates accepting the last Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) report on the progressing examinations of the broke down board’s Chairman.”
