Family survives 34 days in jungle eating fruits

A mum and her three children reportedly survived for greater than a month in the Colombian jungle after they got lost while on holiday.

Incredibly they ate fruit and berries whilst they had beenmissing for 34 days.

The 40-year-old mum and her kids, aged 14, 12 and 10, werestated as lacking on December 19, army commander Sergio Alfredo Serrano told local media.

They had by chance crossed into Peru.

He stated: “They had been on holiday in thevicinityonce they went to fulfill the kid’s father and have become lost, closing 34 days as lacking.”

The own familycontributorshave been reportedly discoverednear the village of La Esperanza within the northern Peruvian region of Yubineto, which nestles at the border with Colombia.

They were following the Putumayo River after they unknowingly crossed into Peru, in step with reports.

Local media stated the missinggroup was locatedby way ofparticipants of the indigenous Secoya community who contacted the Peruvian authorities.

After being rescued, the unnamed mom told nearby media: “We lasted half an hour without consuming water and then we fainted. We needed to drink water all the time and the ladies had not been able to walk.”

According to neighborhood media, the vacationershave been taken to the ESE Hospital Maria Angelines in the southern Colombian metropolis of Puerto Leguizamo with symptoms of malnourishment and minor injuries.

Reports said that the family spent most of the 34 days wandering the jungle barefoot.
