Nigeria records 649 new cases of COVID-19

Nigeria has recorded 649 new cases of COVID-19, making the total number of confirmed infections to 22,020 in the country.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known on Wednesday, 24th June, 2020.

According to data from the NCDC’s website; Nigeria currently has 13,867 active COVID-19 cases. Over 120,108 samples have been tested for coronavirus in the country.

A further breakdown of the cases indicates that Lagos, Oyo, and Plateau recorded the highest cases of COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. Although 7,613 COVID-19 patients have been discharged in the country, 542 are dead.

Globally, the novel coronavirus has killed at least 478,818 people since emerging in China late last year, according to a tally compiled by AFP as at Wednesday.
