R. Kelly was apparently assaulted in his jail cell by a detainee furious with his fans making the prison over and over go into lockdown.
The R&B vocalist was supposed to be sat on his bed when a kindred detainee from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago attacked him, according to TMZ.
Addressing the New York Post, Kelly’s legal counselor Steven Greenberg said that he had been put in isolation as “that is the main spot they can ensure him”.
The supposed assailant was obviously furious about the jail’s lead representative halting visits at the middle, over and over, because of the quantity of Kelly’s fans fighting external the office.
“My understanding is, every time there is a pro- R. Kelly protest outside of the jail, they lock down the entire facility,” Mr Greenberg said.
“When they do this, inmates don’t get their commissary, they don’t get their shower, stuff like that and since they’re fairly sporadic anyway, they get upset. So they’re penalising everyone in the facility because people are protesting in support of Kelly.”
